Feeling Blue

I have wanted a blue bedroom and bath for a very long time. Over the past year or so, I having been piecing my bedroom together. First , I found some blue and white window treatments, then a comforter, next some plates to hang over the bed. Little by little, I am getting there. Recently, my DH and I began painting. We started in the bathroom and still need to get another coat on the walls before moving to the bedroom.

I am wanting to paint the ceiling in my bedroom, too. Anyone out there know whether I should use the same color as on the walls or do I need a different shade?

Hi! I love all your pictures. You are doing a beautiful job. It seems forever since we have talked. Some of our ceilings are painted the same color as the walls. I for sure like it much better than white ceilings.

Blessings,

Beverly

I have watched several different hgtv designing shows and they have some different takes on painting ceilings. For example, if you have high ceilings, paint the ceiling a shade darker than the wall so that it will come down a little. If you have weird walls and ceilings like in attic bedrooms they suggest painting the ceiling the same color as the wall. I have to read up on your room to find out what kind of ceiling you have. Good luck. I love that blue paint you are using.

Cheryl,
Thanks for sharing the info. My ceilings are a little higher than normal plus I have a big light fixture that really lights up the ceiling space, so we decided to go a little darker. Thanks for helping me make my decision.
